From the very beginning of my spiritual journey I have been intrigued by the psychic ability of clairvoyance. Having an open third eye is the ability of extra-sensory perception, commonly known as ESP. This allows us to see and know things unseen by our five senses. When we actively choose to ascend, this can be one of the gifts received from spirit.
In the brain there is a gland, called the pineal gland, located in the back area of the brain. It is located in the “cave of Brahma,” in the center of the head. This tiny, light sensitive gland has shrunk from its original size of about a golf ball, to its present size of about a pea. This happened because we forgot to use it, or just didn’t. Fear and denial shut this gift down. Kind of a use it or lose it phenomena. That is one of the reasons why children can still “see” easier than we can. They will often speak of their imaginary “friend”, etc., when they are small. They don’t know yet, that they are not supposed to “see” outside of the normal vision. When my son, Logan, was about 7-years-old, I was able to ask him to close his eyes and tell me what he saw. Right away he would just close his eyes and tell me of certain images. Now that he is 10-years-old, he just looks at me and tells me he doesn’t see anything. The world has taught him not to “see!”
The pineal gland acts as a light meter for the body, translating changes in light to hormonal messages that are relayed to the body through the autonomic nervous system. Over 100 bodily functions have daily rhythms that are influenced by exposure to light via the pineal gland. This gland produces seratonin, one of the primary neurotransmitters. It also produces melatonin, which influences sleeping and dreaming.
Exposure to light is essential for a healthy and balanced pineal gland. I have noticed if I haven’t been in the sun for a few days, my visions are dim and I can’t read them as easily. Not only that, but Seasonal Affective Disorder, is a widely known depression from lack of sun. Some people get this during the winter when they are not receiving adequate sunlight.
At this time, I mostly access my sixth sense through my mind’s eye. I see my minds eye when I close my eyes and look in the middle of my forehead. Images come to me in different colors and in different ways, using different pictures to get certain points or feelings across to me. These pictures are commonly called archetypes. They are like blueprints from the universe imprinted on everyone’s subconscious or universal energy field. Examples of this would be like being given roses in a vision. To me, roses mean love. So when a person sees roses in their dreams or visualizes them in their visions, they would feel “love.” On the other hand, if one were to see a dog, they would think of “loyalty,” or “man’s best friend.” These are archetypes, or symbols, easily understood by everyday people. I do suggest that you begin making your own dictionary to include your symbols and what they mean to you, because certain objects may mean something different for you. For instance, even though a rose means love to most people, for you, it may remind you of a funeral, or some other sad event. This needs to be put into a journal, so that all your symbols can be kept up with.
Not only can I see in my minds eye, but I can also project my visions onto a mirror or wall in a dark room, to interpret and receive. Sometimes these are easier to work with and not only do I receive images in a “movie” like setting, but sometimes, I will actually feel the energy as it moves through the room.
Working with an open third-eye can be very enjoyable and helps a person to know what the future holds for them. Sometimes I am given warnings that someone in my family is going to get into a car accident. This enables me to send Reiki healing and intentions of "good" to decrease the injury that my family would have otherwise happened. Sometimes I even know of special things that will happen to me in the future. No matter what, with an open third eye I no longer have to go into day to day living Blind!
